Don't miss a thing: Total YearlyKos

Yesterday I wrote a post at DailyKos titled Political Technology: Create your own information feed. In that post I tried to introduce a new technology that has recently become available from Yahoo called Pipes.

One of the scenarios I mentioned in the aforementioned diary was the possibility for an organization to provide a complete information feed to their supporters. Today I've done just that.

YearlyKos Update Episode #1 Debuts

As promised in our previous announcement, the YearlyKos Update podcast Episode #1, hosted by FireDogLake blogger TRex, is now live on the YKC website at http://www.yearlykosconvention.org/podcasting and via iTunes. This first episode brings you up to date on some of the exciting things the Organizing Committee has been up to recently.

We begin with the audio from a short video posted in the Screening Series section of the YKC website that was produced by Mark Warner's Forward Together PAC providing an overview of the impressions several of last year's convention attendees had of the first YKC held in Las Vegas. Following this segment, TRex discusses the upcoming charity Ebay Auction to raise funds for this year's convention that begins this coming Monday, February 12th.

Being Las Vegas

Over the years, I have learned one thing about driving to Las Vegas on these roads. No matter which road you take, no matter how long the drive to get there, you will always get to Las Vegas, the city, exactly one hour beyond the point where you have begun to lose all sense of patience with the road, the car, whatever junky snacks you have brought, the once-cold water bottles now the exact temperature of the car seat next to you, and the music you are listening to. No matter which road, or how long the journey has taken, or how miraculous the journey through windblown desolation, over rock and plain, past invisible lives lived hard and well, there will be one point, one particular rise and fall of the road through yet another dry and barren pass, where you are simply done with it.

YearlyKos Update Podcast Set to Debut

The second annual YearlyKos Convention is being held in Chicago August 2-5, 2007, and recently the Organizing Committee began planning for the podcasting and video blogging for the gathering of political bloggers, their readers, friends, and politicians. The convention being held at the McCormick Place Convention Center in downtown Chicago is considered the pre-eminent event for Netroots movement activists, bloggers from the left side of the blogosphere, and the politicians who wish to reach out to the Internet savvy group that has begun to sway elections.

Movies at the YearlyKos Convention!

I believe the quote was "YearlyKos 2007 will make last year’s convention look like a bake sale". Truer words have never been spoken. Now, we’d like to introduce the newest addition to the festivities. Can you guess what it is? Go ahead and try. Take a stab at it. I’ll wait....

Being from Alabama, I understand how communities, especially those in the South, pride themselves on their own. So you can imagine my excitement to read the following headline at al.com, the website for Alabama's three largest newspapers:
