I'm sure that everyone remembers the big keynote speech of YKC 2006. It was a Saturday night, and we had put the bulk of a great convention behind us. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid got on stage and addressed a room filled with more than 1,000 bloggers. "Give 'Em Hell Harry" signs filled the room.
Reid paid the Netroots and all of the attendees at YKC 06 a great compliment when he said, "As a former boxer, I know fighters when I see them — you're fighters. You're fighters for the truth. You've made a tremendous difference in our country and for the Democratic Party." As Reid spoke those words he brought down the house with thunderous applause. (Watch it here at Politics.tv)
Election day passed and now it is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. After a big victory, it is sometimes easy to forget those who did the heavy lifting. Not Fightin' Harry Reid.
Shortly after the election, Sen. Reid posted this diary (with video) over at DailyKos.
Things like this really make what we are doing as citizens and activists worthwhile. Please check out the video and don't forget to express your thanks to Sen. Reid.
